Records Broaden, but the Fed Minutes Hold the Next Rates Test.
Daily Intelligence explains the market environment before the U.S. session: calendar, sentiment, Fed expectations, rates, cross-market conditions, policy developments and the session game plan. Stock-specific TT101 research remains in Daily Edge.
Risk-On · Uptrend
Low and falling volatility · restrictive bull-flattening · broad sectors, but small caps lagged.
Status: Strengthening, still uneven.
What matters for Wednesday
- FOMC minutes → the main test is whether the committee’s tolerance for another hike matches a market still leaning toward a hold. Exposed: front-end Treasuries, DXY, gold and long-duration growth.
- The 10-year auction → softer yields helped Tuesday’s records; weak demand would reopen the valuation headwind. Exposed: Treasuries, housing, software and semiconductors.
- Large-cap records versus small-cap weakness → sector participation improved, but the Russell’s decline says financial conditions are not supporting the whole tape. Exposed: equal-weight indexes, regional cyclicals and lower-quality growth.
- Oil stability remains policy-dependent → emergency-stock releases eased the immediate inflation impulse without resolving supply risk. Exposed: energy, transports, breakevens and rate expectations.
- AI infrastructure targets are getting larger → Marvell’s long-range plan and Google’s nuclear-power commitment reinforce durable compute and power demand, while raising execution expectations. Exposed: chips, networking, data-center power and utilities.

Records broadened, but small caps diverged
Softer Treasury yields and stabilized crude let AI and megacap leadership extend, while ten of eleven S&P sectors advanced. Semiconductors strengthened and volatility fell, but the Russell declined—an important sign that easing at the index level did not translate into uniform participation. Reuters session recap.
Only material channels
- Energy policy: the G7 agreed to release emergency diesel and crude stockpiles, reducing the immediate fuel-supply premium while leaving the underlying geopolitical risk unresolved.
- Fed: San Francisco Fed President Daly said further hikes depend on whether tariff, oil and AI-demand inflation shocks prove persistent—underscoring why the minutes matter for the path beyond October.

- $CEG / $GOOG: Constellation Energy’s long-term nuclear-power agreement with Google strengthens the AI-power procurement theme and supports repricing across merchant generation. Principal uncertainty: project timing and regulatory execution. Session source.
- $NLST / $MU: Netlist and Micron reached a $600M license agreement, a balance-sheet-changing outcome for Netlist and a material resolution in memory-IP litigation. Principal uncertainty: remaining litigation and payment timing. TradingView source.
